Orihuela is a monumental town that should the highlighted for its important historic past. It has five National Monuments: Cathedral (XII century), Iglesia de Santiago (XV century), Santo Domingo (XVI century); Iglesia de las Santas Justa y Rufina (XIV century) and Episcopal Palace (XVIII century); as well as numerous museums and palaces.
The town has provided illustrious names to Arts and Letters, being a source of inspiration of poets and writters such as Miguel Hernández or Gabriel Miró.

Orihuela has 16 km of coast that covers cliffs with cristaline waters and fine sandy beaches, amongst which we can highlight the beaches of Punta Prima, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Campoamor, Playa Flamenca and Mil Palmeras which, year after year, have obtained the status of European blue flag beaches.
On its beaches, coves and marinas such Cabo Roig and Campoamor you can practise water sports (sailing courses, windsurf, optimist and 470) at any time of the year thanks to the perfect climatic conditions in the area, which assure an average temperature of 20ºC and over 300 days of sunchine per year.
